I think I counted 29 teams listed for this year's Archipelago Raid !
One norwegian and one quasi-norwegian included. A lot of competitors with long sailing resumés. 8 boats with British crew!
Maybe they can arrange a TV production this year (didn't happen last year)?
Stronger TV and internet coverage is a must, I think, if they want to keep this event going.

Now into day 3 of the Raid, 26 teams including the Norsk boat with Grünert/Gravdal!
For sure the racing is exciting, but this year again the website has got weaknesses. They state "we are proud to present video", but (as of today) there is no video there!
Even with boat tracking, it is difficult to get a direct 'live' impression of what is happening in the race. Photos are very small and there are not many of them. You have to read through many dense blocks of tiny text to find out what has happened. Gripe, gripe... OK it never gets better so I'll drop the subject!
Happily there IS some good video (helicopter shots too) on YouTube:

JAZZED UP !
WOW it was jazzed up... REALLY good video production of the Archipelago Raid, by British 'Wing Productions'! Now there are 3 long video segments, posted on the Raid website , and on Youtube.
Never seen so much ultra-smooth helicopter footage around such small boats - VERY good use of the scenery and morning/evening northern light around the boats! And lots of fun glimpses of action, extremely well edited.
And, the NORWEGIAN crew makes a slick maneuver a little over half way through the second video... You gotta see it!

And REMEMBER THIS, if you are in next year's race...
When the camera crew is patiently waiting to film you coming into some little bay; it is because they know THERE IS A BIG ROCK in the middle of the passage....!
And here is that video: the sequence starts at 3'18".
It really sucks, to sit there with the video running and wait for these sailors to bounce off the granite.
But it is VERY FUNNY... (in a sick way of course).

And look at that split mangled bow... Norwegian perhaps?
